Featuring the well formatted and syntactically correct:
- Harold Cohen: AARON
The AARON software has been continually developed since 1973, hand crafted by Harold Cohen to generate his paintings. Harold joins us while visiting the UK for his exhibition at the Bernard Jacobson Gallery (running from 9th July - 15th August). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AARON http://tinyurl.com/5thowy
- Joel Gethin Lewis: Contact
Joel will be talking about Contact, an UVA installation, and how OpenFrameworks enabled them to make the project so fast. http://www.uva.co.uk/archives/74
- Sarah Angliss: Wireless handbells
Sarah will be showing her carillon, a mediaeval instrument used to play sacred music, augmented using xbee technology. It consists of 30 handbells, scattered around the room, and controlled using a theremin and a mini wireless network (also showing at the Sonic Arts Expo, Brighton, Saturday 5 July). http://www.spacedog.biz/
Plus! Opendorks -- 7 minute ad-hoc talks about something strange and electrical. Perfect to get feedback on your small or in-progress project.
If you would like to do a presentation at a future dorkbotlondon event we'd love to hear from you at: dorkbotlondon@dorkbot.org
